MIDSOMMAR

 Our main character in this occasion is Dani Ardor, a psychology student, who was going through a recent trauma; related to death. The incident put Dani’s relationship under strain with Christian her boyfriend, because of that Christian, trying to get Dani in better spirits, invited Dani to join to a Sweden trip, which has been organized by Pelle, a Christian’s friend. Pelle invited his friends because his ancestral commune is having a celebration that occurs just every 90 years.

Once they were there, they met other visitors to the commune, a couple who was Pelle’s brother’s friends, then they tripped with some hallucinogenic mushrooms, after that they started to meet the commune itself and its members, which were almost all related to Pelle. 

The following day the bunch of visitors went to the first festivity, which consisted of finishing the life cycling of a couple of elderly people, they did it by themselves; jumping from a cliff. Having saw that, the group just wanted to leave this place, and this it’s just the beginning.

Pelle’s brother’s friends left the commune the next day, but Dani noticed that it was too coincidental the way in that occurred. 

On the other hand, Pelle’s friends tried to forget and understand a little bit more the commune’s costumes and took advantage from the fact that they were there in order to learn more about ancestral rituals, because they are anthropologists.

While they were doing research and knowing people from there some strange incidents started to happen, including rituals where they were involved without knowing that they were part of them.

In the main celebration day were missing people and the rituals got heavier than ever, the whole commune got to the souls of our characters, specifically Dani’s and when she even noticed what was happening was too late to do anything about it.

Concluding, this movie is so great because you feel an immersion on it. Sometimes you can relate and being identified with any of the characters. All what you see it is new like it were for them, so you never know what is going to be next and how it is going to conclude, therefore you finish accepting the whole experience such Dani did.
